Nail Art: Roses

HAPPY SATURDAY!

Not so happy for me, since I start classes again on Monday. Ugh. Less time for nails. But I've been swatching and doing nail art non stop so I should be set for a little while.

Anyway, here is a cute little nail art I did recently.

Swatch: Father Daughter Duo

So here is the other part of of my Christmas present from my awesome parents!

Before I continue, I have some items to address.
1. I changed my name from Never Naked Nail to Nails by Nicole. There is a shop and blog that go by that name.  I did not want to cause any confusion.
2. I created a Facebook page for myself. Please check it out and like it here!

This is the Father Daughter Duo from Maggy of Daily Lacquer. Its is another Sailor Moon based nail polish. And of course I had to have it.

This awesome duo features Tuxedo Kamen/Mamoru or in English Tuxedo Mask/Darien and his daughter from the future Sailor Chibi-Moon/Chibiusa or also in English Sailor Mini Moon/Rini.

This is a picture of them in the future.

And here are the pretty polishes!

Swatch: Lovely Moon Collection

*BEWARE: PICTURE HEAVY POST*

So for Christmas this year I received The Lovely Moon Collection from my amazing parents.

The Lovely Moon Collection is a collection from a lovely indie blogger Maggy of Daily Lacquer.

This is her Etsy shop.
This is her blog.
This is her Facebook.

I definitely recommend checking out both.

Anyway, The Lovely Moon collection is based on the most awesome old school anime, Sailor Moon. I love Sailor Moon. I grew up with her as my role model. FYI, the Sailor Moon displayed in the English dub is a ditz. The Sailor Moon in the original graphic novels is THE most bad-ass, strong, caring, eccentric woman. Each bottle is jam-packed with glitter shapes of hearts, crescent moons, stars, bars, hexes, and tiny things.

SO MUCH GLITTER.

Day 7: Black and White

OMG! I am sorry for the onslaught of late posts! But here is the start!

So this was for black and white day. I saw this cute picture and I knew I had to do it at some point.

It is a pretty simple design, but absolutely cute.

I used Finger Paint's Black Expressionism as my base and Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation.

Day 5: Cartoon Theme

So for today's challenge, I did my most favorite anime/cartoon ever.

SAILOR MOON!

I love love love Sailor Moon. She was and still is my idol growing up. I love her more in the books than the anime because the anime does not show great character development. Naoko Takeuchi shows Sailor Moon mature gracefully with each novel. Although, the anime did have some good moments. HERE is a link to one of my favorite Sailor Moon movies.

Anyway, on to my nails. I used a lot of colors. So I'll start with the picture first.

Day 2: Flag Nails

Hey everybody!

Today I have some lovely flag nails.

I chose Niger for today's challenge because, of a project I had in high school.

I used Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation as my base. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength's Moonlit Dance and Finger Paint's Sketch N Etch were the stripes. I used a dotting tool for the center.

Nail Art: Veteran's Day

Omg! It has been almost a whole week since I last posted. I am sooo sorry! School and work have been piling up like crazy.

Anyway, on to my nails.

It is a little late, but these are my Veteran's Day nails. I used Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation as my base and for the stars. I used Orly's Royal Navy for the flag part and Sinful Colors Nail Art's My Day for the stripes.

A little way to show some support to the veterans.

Day 29: Inspired by the Supernatural

Only 2 more days left!! I'm so sad :(

Anyway, today is the supernatural day. And i did slime. I thought that the slime/ecktoplasm/ghost guts was pretty supernatural.

I used as Wet N Wild's Buffy the Violet Slayer as my base. I put Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation as the tips and the slimey drips. I put Finger Paint's Guggen I'm Lime over the white to make it look slimey.

Day 28: Inspired by a Flag

So here is a forewarning. My nails are a little chippy today. I forgot to take a picture of hem before I carved my pumpkins.

Oh well.

Anyway...On to my nails. I used a lot of colors. Island Girl's Island Plantation and Big Island Volcano, Orly's Royal Navy, Hard Candy's Fishnet, Wet N Wild's SaGreena the Teenage Witch,Sally Hansen's Extreme Wear's Mellow Yellow, Sinful Color's Cinderella, and Sinful Colors Nail Art's My Day, Orange Alert, and Time Off.

I couldn't decide which flag to do, so all I 10 different flags!

Day 27: Inspired by Artwork

So today is inspired by artwork.
I was going to do Monet's Water Lilies or Van Gogh's Starry Night, but I'm running short on time. So instead I did a Mondrian.

I used Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation as my base. I don't know if you can tell, but this is my favorite white. For the black lines I used Sinful Colors Nail Art's Time Off. for the colors I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear's Mellow Yellow, Essie's E! Live From The Red Carpet, and Orly's Royal Navy.

Day 24: Inspired by a Book

OMG. I have a follower guys! I'm over the moon about this! This awesomely awesomesauce of a person is following my blog!! Check her out!

Haha. Anyway, for my book inspiration I did the graphic novel series, V.B Rose. The V.B part is actually velvet blue. Its a series about weddings and creating the dresses and such. Its such a sweet story. This series inspired a simple white french tip with blue roses stamped on.

I used Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation and  Konad's Blue stamping polish which has no name and Konad's stamping plate m76.

Day 22: Inspired by a Song

So today my song of inspiration was The Cuppycake Song.

You can listen to it here.

Cute, huh? This song is my best friends and my theme song! So anyway, for my base I used Sinful Colors's Cinderella. For the stripes I used Sinful Colors Nail Art's Fun Times and A Slice to go. For this cupcake wrapper I used Bizzare Blurple. The Icing was Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation. The sprinkles was Nicolreby OPI's My Lifesaver and the heart was Orly's Passion Fruit.

Day 19: Galaxy

Happy Friday everyone!

Today is galaxy day! And this is the first time I've ever done this manicure before and I think it came out just lovely.

Today I used a bunch of colors, so prepare yourself.  Orly's After Party was my base. For the stars and nebula I used Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation, China Glaze's Make a Spectacle, Sation's Lemon Pearl, China Glaze's Endurance, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength's Twist of Lime, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength's All Aglow, and finally Scandal's Sydney Blue.

That was a lot, but the result was well worth it.

I think this was a huge success. I really loved it. I'll do it again soon for sure.  Do you guys like the galaxy manicure?

Well tomorrow we're heading to Seaworld for their Spooktackular event. It'll be fun to trick-or-treat around the park. Everyone should visit this month!

See you tomorrow!

Day 14: Flowers

So this post today will be quick.

I did this manicure in a few minutes because my family and I went persimmon picking. Anyway, I used SATION's Lemon Pearl for the french tip and Orly's Royal Navy for the flowers and Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation for the middle.

The flowers weren't as nice as I had wanted them to be, but it had to do. I did them in Chargers colors because I thought there was a game tonight; turns out the game is tomorrow night. Whoops. Oh well.

Overall, I thought the design was cute and simple.

Well, I'm beat from picking fruit and things so have a nice night everyone and see you tomorrow for delicat print!

Day 13: Animal Print

Rawr!

Today I sported a lovely leopard/cheetah spot print while in L.A. today. I also made them pink for breast cancer awareness month. I used Island Girl's Oahu Magic as my base. It is a pretty pale pink with a slight shimmer. For the spots I used Essie's Bachelorette Bash and Finger Paint's Black Expressionism.

I'm sorry for blurry pics... Tomorrow I'll replace the pics when the lighting is better. I just got home from L.A. so yeah. Anyway, isn't the design cute?  The bright pink looks so cute against the paler one.

I made it with an hour to spare. Today is animal print and it was super cute and super easy. I loved it.

Whats your guys favorite animal print?

See you tomorrow! I'll post pics of the awesome nail polish place tomorrow. :)

EDIT: Fixed the picture kinda sorta. Looks better now.

Day 12: Stripes

So for stripes today I did popcorn!

I apologize in advance. My nails are messier than normal... I did them this morning before I went to my 8 am class. So today's colors once again involved Island Girl's Pineapple Plantation as my base, Essie's Too Too Hot, and Sally Hansen Extreme Wear's Mellow Yellow. This was a fun and pretty easy to do. I found it to be such a cute design.

Isn't it cute? Pop pop popcorn! The Too Too Hot is a really nice bright stripe. Ugh... My poor nails look terrible.

I swear my nails will be prettier tomorrow. I'll be posting late tomorrow just so you guys know. My family and I are doing a mini trip to L.A. and while we're up there we are going to visit the Nail Supply House! I'm so excited!! Gonna add more to my stash.

See you tomorrow for animal print!
